The next couple of weeks will see Brisbane inundated with live music and entertainment options with various festivals and events across the city and suburbs.
The 2018 Valley Fiesta is currently underway, running throughout the remainder of this week and across the weekend. Offerings as part of the Fiesta schedule include live music and performances in numerous Fortitude Valley locations, including free shows on the The Main Ring in Brunswick Street Mall, the Chinatown Carpark and various establishments within the precinct.
Jeremy Neale will deliver a pop-up show on the Chinatown Carpark roof tomorrow (Friday, August 31) evening from 5.00pm, while the likes of Gabriella Cohan and Sweater Curse will perform in a free all-ages show at the same location on Sunday afternoon from 2.00pm. A little further afield on Saturday will see Babaganouj playing what is likely to be their final local show for the year when they feature at the Sunlit Sounds Festival at The Gap. Being held on the grounds of Hilder Road State School, Sunlit Sounds will also feature the likes of Asha Jefferies and Kellie Lloyd, along with food trucks and market stalls. Back in The Valley from Tuesday and the joint will be jumping with conference delegates, artists and music fans out in force for Big Sound 2018. The industry conference and festival will be staged over four nights at 19 venues and feature in excess of 270 live performances. Local, interstate and international artists across all genres will feature on the festival schedule, which will be the biggest yet.
