Fancy yourself as a photographer? Got some great snaps that you want people to see? Want to win $5000? If you answered yes to all of these, then the Lord Mayor’s Photographic Awards are for you.
The Lord Mayor’s Photographic Awards (LMPA) give photographers across all levels of experience the opportunity to submit their best images that capture Brisbane in all its glory, reflecting the “expressive, enthusiastic and energetic” city that it has become. Photographers are invited to submit original images that showcase Brisbane’s “unique characteristics, hidden gems and local features.”
The submission period for the 2018 competition is now open and runs until 5.00pm on Wednesday, August 8. Entries can be submitted online at the competition website or via Instagram using the hashtag #LMPA2018.
Awards are presented in three categories – Open, Student and Social Media – with $5000 to the winner of the open category. The best student image will collect $3000 and the best social media image will win $1000, while the People’s Choice Award, which was won last year by a portrait from Jerri-Lee Leslie (pictured), also offers a $2000 prize.
