The Bond University Film and Television Awards (BUFTA) are on again this year and entries are now being accepted. The annual competition offers some fantastic prizes, with the person judged Best Overall Filmmaker securing a full scholarship to study a Bachelor of Film and Television at Bond University. Other prizes on offer include equipment and vouchers from sponsors such as Videopro and Miller, along with subject scholarships. In addition to the Best Overall Filmmaker Award, there are also awards for Best School and People’s Choice plus craft awards and six individual film categories (Animation, Comedy, Drama, Documentary, Experimental, Music Video).
The competition is open to all Australian secondary students enrolled in Year 11 or Year 12 in 2015 and each entrant may submit an unlimited number of entries. Each film must be no longer than 10 minutes – including titles and credits – and must be an original work that does not contain any copyright material. For full competition details, head to the BUFTA website.
Entries close on October 7 and the top 30 finalist films will be announced on November 3. Videopro People’s Choice voting will be open from November 6 to November 20 and all award winners will be announced on November 28.
