Fortitude Valley comes alive this weekend (August 23 and 24) for the annual Valley Fiesta celebration of music, fashion, food and fun. With a music program headlined by The Preatures and Dan Sultan, who is fresh from picking up three wins at the National Indigenous Music Awards in Darwin a few days ago. With myriad other activities and events scheduled throughout the weekend, the scene is set for a huge two days of entertainment.

The free, all ages festival will feature musical performances across three stages, including the Fiesta Main Stage on Saturday in Brunswick Street (between Anne and McLachlan Streets), which will be closed to traffic for the event. Both the Brunswick Street Mall and Chinatown Mall will also feature music and entertainment on both Saturday and Sunday.

Other acts hitting the main stage on Saturday include The Royales, The Creases, Allday and plenty more, while the likes of Young Franco, Safia and REMI will feature on the Brunswick Mall stage throughout the day.

Come Sunday, the Queensland Music Awards Showcase will take over the Brunswick Mall stage. Headlined by Jeremy Neale, the showcase will also feature Georgia Potter, MKO, Mosman Alder and Amy Shark, who has been drafted in to replace Blaq Carrie.

Other events and entertainment over the weekend include Live Band Karaoke, Red Bull Crate and Diggers Market, Chinatown Chow Down, The Valley Swap Shoppe, Music Industry College Student Buskers, NOVA Sumo Wrestling and the BOQ Pop-Up Ping Pong Playoffs.
