Have you got something say? Do you love to speak your mind? Well, if so, The Australian Poetry Slam ’14 is your chance to get it off your chest. The Brisbane heat in the national competition takes place at the Brisbane Powerhouse on Friday, August 1, with each contestant having two minutes to wow the audience and judges with their original spoken word poetry.

Two contestants will be selected by the judges to do battle in the Queensland final at the State Library in September.

Entry to the event as a participant are spectator are absolutely free, however due to limited capacity, audience members need to register in advance to be assured of a place in the crowd. Competitors can register from 30 minutes before the start of the event, but only the first 20 competitors to sign-up will be able to compete.
