Free Live Music Every Weekend

If you live in Brisbane and love live music but are a little short on cash, there are plenty of opportunities each week to catch free performances from a variety of talented local bands and musicians.

Every Friday night on the Melbourne Street Green at QPAC, the Seed Project presents a collection of the best up and coming musical artists for your listening pleasure. Now in its second year, The Seed Project presents live original music from the very best local independent bands and artists. An initiative of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, the Seed Project performances kick off at 5:30pm every Friday evening until August 22. The performers scheduled to appear in the weeks ahead are listed below, however the line-up is subject to change, so stay tuned to the Seed Facebook page for updates and changes.

25 July: Liza-Jane, Clodagh, Jac Stone
1 August: Taylor Moss, Essie, Jared Porter Band
8 August: Marcus Blacke, Tinker, The Orchard
15 August: Lily, Maximo, Timber Bones
22 August: Bree De Rome, David Baker, Brodie Graham Band

Meanwhile, over at the Powerhouse every Sunday, you can kick back and relax with a mid-afternoon offering of the best indie-pop and rock bands from Brisbane and beyond. Each event is presented as a double bill, with the first band beginning at 3.30pm and the second band hitting the stage at 4.30pm. The Livespark schedule for the weeks ahead is as follows:

July 20: Marcello Milani and Karl Broadie
July 27: Diamond City and Hugo Race
August 3: Cypher and Rose Wintergreen
August 10: Curious Finch and Charlotte Emily
