New Festival for Brisbane

The first three weekends of November will see a disused space at Hamilton Wharf transformed into an arts and entertainment precinct for the first ever Containerval Festival. Shipping containers will be transformed into a mix of pop-up retail shops, performance spaces and artist studios. The festival kicks off this weekend and will be open Friday to Sunday for the first two weeks and Thursday to Sunday on the final weekend. The final three nights will feature open-air cinema sessions as part of the Brisbane International Film Festival.

There will be theatre, dance and circus performances, art exhibitions, workshops, fashion parades, food and retail outlets, with a music program featuring the likes of Tom Thum and Sampology.

The festival dates are:

November 2 (10:00am to 10:00pm)
November 3 (10:00am to 5:30pm)
November 8 (5:30pm to 9:00pm)
